Striped Crochet Scarf & Dachshund Puppy

This week I was working on a really cute scarf. I crocheted it with orange and black yarn for a really great October look. Being that my daughter's favorite color is orange this scarf was perfect for her!

I found the free pattern  here which you can use by clicking on the link from Red Heart. They call it the Super Easy Scarf Crochet Pattern, and it really is pretty simple to make.  (*updated 11-12-12 : I have since figured out that this is simply what is known as a moss stitch. Two rows one color, two rows the next. That is what creates this cute zig-zag. After your base chain, you simply do a single crochet in second third chain and then a chain, single crochet in space, chain, repeat ending in a single crochet, chain two and turn, repeating working the single crochet in each space.
For a tutorial there are many U-tube videos, or Google Moss Stitch Crochet.)

I am happy I can make this for my girl!
We chose it because of the zig zag look to it. Looks great Orange and Black!

I added a black border all the way around and an extra row of black on each end. It really needed that to give it a more polished and finished look.

So did you notice the puppy?
Yes, we have a new puppy in our lives.
His name is Hunter and he is 11 weeks old! Isn't he just a darling!

His big Brother Bear is so happy to have a new little brother!

Today the weather is just a perfect Fall day here in Colorado!
I am going to go outside and spend it with family and pooches.
What a blessing indeed. Hope you are having a great and wonderful day!

Crochet Camera Pouch & I won a book!

Hello and bless you! I have been enjoying a super busy week after the Easter Holiday.

This weekend while driving to another town for a family gathering, I brought along my yarn and hook. I wanted to make a little strapped camera pouch that I could easily carry and get my camera in and out of. So I took some bright and cheerful yellow cotton worsted yarn and started working away.
Here is what I made.

I wanted a long enough strap to carry easily over my neck. Just a small pouch that easily holds my camera. There is enough room for my cell phone as well! I was pretty happy with how it turned out. Everyone like it as well. I just made up my own pattern as I went. It was one continuous yarn project and I never ended up cutting any yarn until the last knot I tied at the end. I incorporated the strap and slip stitched the sides.

I love this better than the store bought camera cases.
It is much cuter, and really makes my camera accessible!
I took these pictures out in my yard this morning. Ever seen a tree with a camera pouch? Ha ha!

I went to pick up a package at the post office out here in the country. I was wondering what it could be? When I got there, I was pleased to find that it was my first prize I have ever one from a blog give away!

I won this children's book from

She has such a warm family loving blog. I really enjoy her posts.
Thanks Connie!
I was pretty excited to win. And since my great niece is turning five this month. I think I will tuck it in with her presents!

. This week has been such a busy time, with errands, appointments, kids events, etc!
Reminder.. did you get your taxes mailed? The deadline this year is April 17th.
I sure hope you are all having a great week!

Crochet Dishcloths

I had the most wonderful visit this weekend with my parents.
The kids were thrilled when Grandpa and Grandma came for a visit.

My dear Momma is always a person that brings a gift!
She brought me these beautiful dishcloths.

She has been working on them and made quite a few colorful cloths.
Aren't they just so pretty?

I really love all the colors. I also like the texture from the ribbing.

I think these are so pretty, that I will find them hard to use on dishes!
But she says, "Don't save them. Use them!"

Oh, thank you Momma for these pretty little crochet dishcloths! I just love them!

I just wanted to share my blessings with you to enjoy!

Pretty Yarn

Hello everyone! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.
I want to show you the pretty yarn that I bought.
I liked the colors, happy and cheerful,
but still not to bright or harsh.
My idea is to make a quilt.
I start by making 100 circles for my 100 square quilt!
This is going to be crochet.
Here you see my progress so far with round two on most of the circles.

Wish me luck!
This is a big project for me.
Never have done something to this effect.

Blessings to you!

Bear Love, My Pekingese Crocheted Sweater!

Baby Bear in his new crocheted red sweater!
I have crocheted a cute little red sweater for my pekingese, Bear!
I had an urge to make it, and was quite surprised at how it just came to develop off of my hook!
Wow! I am quite pleased with how it came out!
He is a sweety and was so eager to wear his new little outfit that Momma made for him!
He knows he looks pretty.
Now of course he is it just so darn cute.. I can't stand it!

I love Bear, he was my Dear Hubby's Valentine gift to me three years ago, and he is truly a gift of pure love!
I am so thankful for my Little Baby Bear!

Loving my Bear with a new coat!
Finding yet another way to love someone with yarn.
