I don't know about you, but I am feeling the crisp morning air and anticipating the wonderful Autumn weather. Just around the corner leaves will be changing colors and dropping soon after. I already have some doing this now. It is one of the prettiest times of year here in Colorado. So I decided to look back into my blog and last year when I had barely started my blog.. I had posted some beautiful pictures, that I am going to share again with you now. They were from my Cottonwoods in my yard, and I don't think a single person even looked at the post. So now I will do a little preview of my fall leaves in my yard from last year 11-26-2011.
Enjoy!
FAREWELL LEAVES
With Thanksgiving past, and what a wonderful time it was, I am now switching gears to prepare for Christmas. For me this means saying farewell to the gorgeous Autumn color pallet.
I will first take down all my Autumn leaf garlands and little pumpkins and gourds, etc. Out with the oranges, yellows, reds and browns. What a pretty pallet of colors.
This always makes me a little sad because I don't believe my Harvest theme gets enough time to be on display. Next year I must start right in September!
Just like my pretty trees, the leaves just start to glisten in gold and a cold snap hits and BOOM! They all drop to the ground! Don't blink or you will miss it.
So I decided to share a couple of pictures I took of my large Cottonwood tree that was in full golden beauty just a few week ago. I really believe that trees change to these fire colors in the Fall so we will look at them in awe. Not to mention, make us feel as if we are really the worlds greatest photographers.
It is really God that does all the work, but He gives us these beautiful views to photograph, paint, or just enjoy. We can feel good about it. Thank you Father for the beautiful Autum color pallet! I love it.
Hope you enjoy my trees pretty fall colored leaves!
Blessings,
Little Susie Home Maker
Enjoy!

There's nothing quite like the changing of leaves for beauty! I so enjoyed living in Canada and experiencing that wonder! :)
ReplyDeleteOur leaves changed here real early due to the heat. I love the change of seasons. The leaves on the trees changing colors, the temperatures changing, the smell of pie in the oven :-)
ReplyDeleteSusie thank you so much for sharing. Your pictures are just beautiful. It is still hot here today it was 101 again today. They are saying we are expecting a cool front this weekend so it will probably get around 97 giggles.

I'm not sure if our trees will be that pretty this year as it's been too dry!

I found your blog from Google+. When we lived in Colorado, six years ago, I loved how the Cottonwoods and Aspens changed to that pretty gold color. Your pictures brought back some nice memories.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your autumn!

What a gorgeous tree!! SO beautiful to look at, and see change!! Have a great weekend! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteFall is my favorite season, I'm looking forward to decorating. Your pictures are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAs the poet laureate of the Rocky Mountains sang,

The trees were very pretty. I can't wait to see how the trees will look this year.

I'm truly ready for autumn as well, and viewing your pretty tree photos made me all the more ready. You should take some more photos for this year and compare them to your first set. :)
ReplyDeleteMy neighbor's tree turns such a pretty color in the fall. I get to enjoy looking at it from my sewing room as I am pressing quilt blocks. =)
ReplyDeleteFall is beautiful, isn't it? God does make things beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI got excited this morning when I opened my front door and saw 2 leaves from my tree on the lawn.I am so ready for fall, my most favorite season. God's handiwork cannot be rushed.
ReplyDeleteblessings to you.
Those are beautiful pictures. I am excited for fall too. Love the Lord! Thanks for sharing and for following me on google. I am a new follower on GFC too.
ReplyDeleteI lived in Colorado years ago and remember the changing of the leaves there -- so beautiful ... I wish it were so here in Texas, but we just don't get much of those gorgeous colors! What we have is beautiful though, as is all of God's color palette! Beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteAnd ... tag you're it!! Here's a fun game that I'm passing on to you! Go to my post to see! Have fun!!

This is the one thing I miss now that I no longer live in Georgia. It's summer almost year round over here so there are no changing leaves. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHere in central Florida, we never really experience Fall, instead we normally enjoy warm (hot too) all year long:) Enjoy the pretty colors!

Susie, your Cottonwood tree photos are gorgeous showing off their Fall splendor. There definitely is a crispness to the evening air here in Michigan. We had such a dry summer, I don't know what to expect for our Autumn season. I fear the leaves will just dry up and fall without giving us a colorful show. We'll know in a few more weeks!

Beautiful fall shots! I'm afraid we won't have the color this year that we usually have--too little water and too much heat. So, it's nice to see some pretty fall trees!

Susie,
