Hope your New Year is starting off good.
I am setting a few goals this year, as I am not one for "resolutions", but it is kinda the same.
One thing I really want to do is more sewing.
I want to have fun with this and really have fun. Smaller projects, not too overwhelming. Because I tend to get side tracked and my interest wanders after a bit.
Which brings me to another goal, and that will be to FOCUS. I am thinking maybe I should dubb this my "Word of the Year!" What do you think? I have a lot going on this year, and I really need to pay attention to monthly time frames, and deadlines. So Focus will help here.

Focus will also help me to finish what I start. That is another goal.
I need to also apply it to my crafting. I am terrible about not finishing my craft projects. So I want to go find an old project between new ones and try to complete them. This one is going to be tough for me. Does anyone else have this problem?

Another goal, in no particular order, is to nourish myself and my family a little more healthy. I do a pretty good job already, but I am going to add a few things that I am excited about. These may be more for myself, but they should help me feel better. I will talk about that in another post coming soon.
This is going to be a great year, because I say it will be! Haha, you know the power of positive thinking is really good! Now I wonder if you have any goals, or words of the year, or resolutions?
Blessings,
Little Susie Home Maker
Susie,
ReplyDeleteThe word "Focus" is a great word, I surely need to do a little more of this myself. Maybe I will put this word in a frame and hang it on my wall in the house to remind me to stay focused.
You have crab apples in your yard, I'm so jealous. We used to have apple trees up in Michigan when I was a kid. In fact, we had several different type of apple trees, plum trees, and cherry trees. Eventually when we buy our land, I want to have a small orchard of different fruit trees.
Have a great evening!
Hi Susie,
ReplyDeleteFocus...fabulous word, and Im afraid, not one I use very often. But, I have a very busy, turbulent year coming up, so maybe its one word that should be on the tip of my tongue...always
Thank you for posting

Hi Susie,
ReplyDeleteWell, I think you have a fabulous start with the fresh design on your blog. You will have a great year, I'm sure.
Farmhouse hugs,

Susie,
ReplyDeleteYou sound like me, I lose focus too... I have many unfinished projects. Focus is a great word for 2013!
Blessings,
Amy Jo
Mine is exactly the same as yours, focus and finish UFO's
ReplyDeleteOne of my not so good traits is to have too many things on the go at once. I am determined to use up all my stash of fabric and bits and bobs and not buy any more until I have.
Good Luck with your resolutions. xx
Ohh...I can't wait to see the quilt when it's done! :)

ReplyDeleteI totally understand where you are with the need to focus. It seems i have a lot of unfinished crafts and ideas! I think I'm just gonna give up on the old ones and start new. Blessings, Jean

Susie -- how sweet of you to sew for your dolly! I agree I need to make more time for sewing too. And yes, I do have some unfinished projects that need to be brought back into focus. I like to think having multiple projects in progress is a sign of great creativity!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year. So glad to have you as a friend.
Debra
I tend to start new crocheting projects cause I get a idea in my head and I want to see it...so every now and then I stop myself and go back and try to finish up some that have been left behind. .I make a point to do that...I call myself re --focusing Happy New year..with love Janice
ReplyDeleteWhy not set up a UFO group? We meet once a week (yes that often!). Each person must bring an unfinished project. Nothing new. Gossip. Whine. Complain. Yes, things are soon finished because we are in it together.
ReplyDeleteFocus is a good word for the year! I have a friend that has 100 unfinished bead projects, she said that she excels in starting!!! Thanks for the fun thought, Laura
