Are You Ready for Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I hope you are all staying warm, having fun with your crafts or sewing and cooking. I know I don't blog much anymore and I am sorry for that. The time involved has been tough for me to blog weekly recently. I have so many duties at this time to attend.
I have been keeping active in my Facebook page
I would love for you to visit me there!

I am having Thanksgiving at my house this year. I been going through my vintage linens and dishes. Many of these will be in use this year. I am so excited to use them. Do you ever use vintage dishes or family heirlooms?

I will be making the turkey and doing a lot of the cooking. Thankfully my family is pitching in with the help and even bringing some of their own delicious side dishes. My favorite dishes are all the traditional foods: turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, veggie, cranberries with a few changes to flair things up a bit.

For dessert my Favorite Pumpkin Pie recipe is sure to be served, because I don't feel like it is Thanksgiving without it! I still am thinking on what other pies to make. Maybe pecan or apple? Both? Haha!! Lets face it, Thanksgiving is also about the food! What a wonderful time to enjoy our bounty that God has blessed us with!

I know you will all be busy this week as well, so enjoy yourselves and feel the warmth of your loved ones whether they are near or far. Know that you are in my thoughts.

Little Susie Home Makers Best Peach Cobbler Recipe and tutorial

My easy to make Peach Cobbler is always a huge hit with my family and friends. It is so easy to make! You will love the smell as it is baking! I just had to share my recipe with lots of pictures for a tutorial that will have you baking in no time! Little Susie Home Maker's Peach Cobbler  1 stick butter (1/2 cup) 2 cups sugar 2 cups flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon cinnamon  2 cups milk 1 large or 2 med cans sliced peaches 2 tablespoons brown sugar The first thing you want to do, is put the stick of butter into your oblong baking pan. Then place in center rack of oven, then turn the oven on to preheat to 350* F. The butter will begin to melt in the baking pan.  Next, mix the sugar, flower, baking powder, cinnamon and milk in a large mixing bowl, into a batter. A long handle wooden spoon works just fine, but you could use a mixer if you like. Stir until well blended, but don't over beat.  Remove the oblong pan from the ove

It's Looking Like Fall Again

Just wanted to pop in and say hello. I know it's been a very long while. Are you all getting ready for Fall? It has been so warm here in Colorado. It was 90F yesterday. I hope to have some more posts for you soon. But we will see. I have a ways to recover from a recent surgery. So it's been a little hard to concentrate on projects just yet. I have to work on all my getting better first. I had a neck operation and have found that I can't seem to hold my arms up and hold my neck down when crafting without a lot of pain. So I am trying to work this out first. Have a great Fall. And I hope you are good. Blessings, Susie

Homemade Hummingbird Feeder & Recipe

The other day, I was looking out the window at one of our new tube bird feeders. I didn't think about it's bright red color when I bought it. Just thought it was pretty. Well we had been really having some of the most terribly windy days recently. My old feeders were blowing in the wind, and came crashing down. Needless to say, a few new feeders were in order. source Unfortunately, I hadn't replaced the hummingbird feeder. I noticed a humming bird fly about the red tube feeder! The tiny feathered beauty seemed disappointed to find only seed offered. source Well, I knew I needed to do something. So, I looked around and found this little old salt shaker. It is one of those tiny mason jar types with the handle. I figured I would try to make one out of it. Now, how would I do it? I decided to scrape out the holes with the small point of a steak knife and make the holes a more accommodating size. Then looked around and found a piece of red button hole elastic t
